We had this Caipis back on the afternoon of December 31th 2013, when I got together with my hubs’ best friend Jean Christophe and his femme Claire (and one of my best friends too) , to document the process of the dinner they were preparing for us and the rest of our friends for NYE . While Jean was taking care of lobsters :( and Claire was in between entertaining their lovely daughter and decorating the living room for later, I found myself with a bottle of Cachaça, some limes and you know the saying, right?. If life gives you limes….
Either hosting or attending a party, this type of event always create a feel-good-mood, but when that soirée is to say farewell to a year, I think the most appropiate way to describe that feeling should be excitement; and if you pair that emotion with the right people and food, then what you have is a remarkable feast.
We´re hoping you´re getting all glitzy and glam to welcome the new year; and by we, I mean aromas&sabores’ fantastic team of Co+laborators: Daniela, Karen, Juliana, Ashton & Katya. Each one of these wonderful ladies put their heart and time to create something different and pretty but at the same time practical to improve your everyday life.
I made up a lil Christmas gift guide with tons of mexican flare for you all. Many, many times, friends and readers all over the world ask me to recommend them what to buy, do or eat while in my muy delicioso country. Most of those times, I find difficult to put up an inmediate perfect list while others, is just impossible to explain what achiote looks and taste like. So here´s my list. Whenever I travel to my hometown I make sure to pack some of these cuties when is time to fly away.
One of the things I love about traveling and living abroad is to discover old traditions from other countries . My dearest Karen has been without a doubt one of those persons which is always sharing fun and interesting stories around wines, cocktails, spirits and cordials. Pimm´s No. 1 Cup is one of those newest additions, I loved not just the cocktail which is made by mixing Pimm´s liqueur with chopped fresh fruits and veggies and carbonated lemonade something I learned is a very british thing to do in summer. – Heidi
