Food served in a bowl, or what Instagram taught us to call Buddha bowls are not so new. As the name implies it is a reference to the single (or one of the few) possessions a buddhist monk has, which is a bowl that allows him (or her) to receive food in return of their prayers and blessings. Nothing farthest from the overly abundant bowls full with all sorts of food that we’ve seen in Pinterest or IG, maybe because people tend to correlate this to Buddha’s big belly instead to a daily affirmation of less is more.

Chicken and avocado are a great match. Just like limes and tequila, they get alone muy bien.

Although this is a super duper easy recipe, I´m sharing with you the directions but by all means use this just as an starting point. And speaking of limes since I had a couple of those in my fridge at that time, I choose to use them to enhance and add a bit of tartiness to my creamy dressing.

Cinco de Mayo celebrations, which are big in USA (especially amongst Mexican-Americans and Latino communities) are the result of transculturalization. In other words, although it is a public holiday that commemorates la Batalla de Puebla (Puebla´s battle) where the Mexican army defeated the French invaders, in Mexico we rarely celebrate that day.

That does not means we cannot feel a little bit festive and have an (even higher) oh-so-mexican-spirit today, so I decided to share with you a modern interpretation of our classic tacos de pescado (fish tacos) that you will be able to replicate no matter where you live.

I cameback from Kathmandu two days ago. I arrived home on Saturday morning after a 5 hours flight followed by 1 h ferry ride (HK-Macau), and altough it wasn´t a long traject, I came home physically tired and emotionally exhausted.

These two past days I have been very silent, avoiding at all cost any kind of personal comunication. (I tend to that very often when I reached my levels). Kathmandu is a city that very easily can absorb your energy and your brains, or at least that is my own personal experience. Therefore, I had to make a stop and have a conversation with myself.
