October Favorites

Solo walks in the Mellah neighborhood brought a fantastic Beldi style brekky, which has jumped to my ultimate faves & must-do in the ochre city. Tip: Search for old, small and crowded juice shops serving (aside fresh juices) all-day breakfast fare like khili eggs. While there also ask for msemen, atay & avocado juice.

Had several short trips to Marseille, France. It was quite nice to enjoy the hospitality of my friends dj TiT & Cecile; in between appointments I took a lovely walk around the Vieux Port, made friends with some old fishermen, visited the amazing MUCEM and had a nice seafood lunch at Chef´s Gerald Passedat Le Môle.

June was a complicated moody month for me. During June we finally felt home in our apartment. There are still things to change or improve but we have learned one important thing during all these expat years: to have tons of patience.

June was a bit of a hazy month for me too. Way too hot days and nights that were spent doing the minimum of physical effort. But was also a month of late evenings spent at our terrace with a glass of rosé on hand.

Month after month, they are all just passing by so fast that I feel like I haven´t accomplished much of my goals in any front. That includes this  creative space but sometimes you gotta do what you can with what you have (or something like that). I started this fifth month commuting; as pretty much of this 2014 has been. We went from our temporary “home”; that stunning and magnificient La Mamounia  Palace hotel to our humble but lovely and down to earth apartment which we love.

April came and went like a fine unnoticed breeze.

I started the month in Mexico City to shortly after finding myself on another transcontinental flight to  South of France. We spent lovely days visiting  La Cote Bleue´s  cute fishermen towns with landscapes and life scenes worthy of a picturesque novel. Two weeks later we were packing again, this time for our move to Marrakech, of which I already told you about here.
