Mimosa Cocktail with stone fruit

Mimosa cocktail is one of those finds we tend to discover when we’re on our late teens or early twenties and we’re trying to find what chic, classy grown-ups ingest. At least, that’s how I remember Mimosas, a fruit and sparkling wine based drink that not only looks great as the ultimate hand accessory but it sort of goes well with all types of social gatherings. I must admit I have never being big fan of Mimosas, but since my french hubby loves his Champagne with fresh pressed orange juice just so much, I asked Madame Gaignon (aromas n’ sabores Sommelier advisor ;) ) what else could we do to give Mimosa a much-needed facelift.

We had this Caipis back on the afternoon of December 31th 2013, when I got together with my hubs’ best friend Jean Christophe and his femme  Claire (and one of my best friends too) , to document the process of the dinner they were preparing for us and the rest of our friends for NYE . While Jean was taking care of  lobsters :( and Claire was in between entertaining their lovely daughter and decorating the living room for later, I found myself with a bottle of Cachaça, some limes and you know the saying, right?. If life gives you limes….

One of the things I love about traveling and living abroad is to discover old traditions from other countries . My dearest Karen has been without a doubt one of those persons which is always sharing fun  and interesting stories around wines, cocktails, spirits and cordials. Pimm´s No. 1 Cup is one of those newest additions, I loved not just the cocktail which is made by mixing Pimm´s liqueur with chopped fresh fruits and veggies and carbonated lemonade something I learned is a very british thing to do in summer. – Heidi

Hola amigos, for Karen´s & I third collaboration, we decided to propose you some ideas on how to set up and style a home bar. Long gone are those days when a bored housewife was supposed to greet her man with a cocktail on hand (just for him, obviously). These days, we, ladies & gents, like to enjoy a nice drink while in a chic but relaxed setting. With Karen´s smart advice, we integrated a `bar cart´ in  a little corner of our living room, since then that place has become one of my husband´s and I fave spots à la maison. R. and I are really taking advantage of our swanky bar display  and nowadays, he´s the one who pours a glass of Cognac for his gal.
