While inProvence my husband prepared this special tarte as an apreciation token for family and friends to thank for their kindness during our stay  There aren´t enough words that can express our gratefulness to our loved ones so we thought, hey, why don´t we bake a little edible thank you note?.

One tarte was enjoyed  with les beaux parents, la Mamie et le beau frère at one of the many alfresco lunches we held at their garden. The other tart we brought it to le cabanon where C. and his girlfriend A. organized a diner in our honor. Some of mon calisson´s best friends where there and per their suggestion we brought the dessert, since some of them mentioned it was long time since they had taste any of his sweet creations.

It has changed. Slightly, petit a petit, the weather feels pleasantly cooler. Nothing to be surprised if we consider we just recently celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival at this part of the world.

I say we should ignore the previous fact and we all should get on our swimsuits and embrace these last days of sunshine. I´m thinking to silly plouff and plaaff in a fancy casino swimming pool but to be honest any piscina will do.

This past week was la fête de la Sainte Rosalie. According to the legend, the fervor and devotion of les villageois to this sainte was the reason why le village of La Fare les Oliviers was spared from the monstrous peste during the 14th century (unlike neighboring town Salon-de-Provence who had a certain monsieur and medecin Nostradamus who although helped to fight la peste, lost several family members). and that is why every year my husband´s town celebrate their sainte giving to this occasion the level of fete anuelle de village

For an strange reason totally away of my understanding by suggestion of my beau pere we drove almost two hours direction Beaucaire to lunch over couscous marrocain. More strangely, after eating that hot, mild spicy dish that has made its way to the french tables,  I had to agree that although a long ride, it was worth every single mile ( the greenery, the wheat fields and those gorgeous oleanes make it even nicer).
