Random thoughts and the city of Montpellier

Visiting a new place is always exciting, little matter if its just one and a half hour drive from home. As long as it takes you away from daily routine it counts as traveling in my book. And I hope it also does in yours.

Regis and I found ourselves visiting the city of Montpellier twice recently (for business meetings), and although we weren’t able to spend much time doing sightseeing, we took a short walk around the Jardin de Peyrou which surrounds the old city.

The little we saw during our short walk made us feel marveled about the ancient civilizations that made the city what it is. From the level of craftmanship regarding architecture and beaux arts, the knowledge of space-grandeur to the exact opposite with the attention to detail in the smallest, tiniest decorative element, Montpellier (and whole France for that matter) has so much to offer.

I am hoping and crossing fingers so we can spend more time in this city because these short visits left me craving for more. Haven’t you feel this way before?

Here are a few pictures I took with my iPhone to illustrate my point.

Hope they motivate you to go outside in this cold weather (bbbrrr) and outside of  your comfort zone.
